UConn football did not get off to a great start and things weren’t looking too hot towards the end, but the Huskies found a way to shake off a mistake-filled afternoon and come away with the win. They improve to 4-2 heading into a bye week and fans can reasonably keep their expectations up high.
After all, Jim Mora’s squad has already surpassed last season’s win total. This is the best start to a season for UConn since 2009 and has a good chance of ending as the best season since then.
For a program that has not seen a winning season since 2010, things are shaping up nicely. If we told you before the season that the team started 4-2, won three big blowouts including its FCS matchup, has a lockdown defense that can win games on its own, and a whole slew of proven playmakers on offense with stable O-line play, you would absolutely take that!
In this (longer than expected) episode, Aman and Graham discuss the remarkable finish to the Temple game, UConn’s performance against expectations, quarterback play, and whether the hype machine got a little too righteous after the big wins over FAU and Buffalo.
Enjoy!
