UConn is bowling in Myrtle Beach
The Huskies will have a re-match in their first bowl game since 2015.
Brett McMurphy and the Hartford Courant have confirmed, UConn football is heading to the Myrtle Beach Bowl.
This is an immense accomplishment for this team, particularly the upperclassmen, who have seen a lot of rough times in their careers, and the coaching staff, which has orchestrated a turnaround of this program that is nothing short of remarkable.
Jim Mora’s Huskies will face Marshall, an 8-4 team playing in its first year in the Sun Belt, where they finished 5-3 and third in the conference behind James Madison and Coastal Carolina—two very good teams.
Speaking of Coastal Carolina, the school’s trademark teal field is where the Myrtle Beach Bowl is taking place, on Monday, December 19. This is not only a fun destination for players but should present good recruiting opportunities for Mora and the staff. For most fans, this should be a relatively easy trip to make and an attractive place to visit.
UConn last played Marshall in its last bowl game, the 2015 St. Petersburg Bowl, which the Huskies lost 16-10. Seven years later, they meet again.
